Clarence McKee is a Newsmax.com “Insider,” where his extensive writings can be found on his “Silent Minority” Blog ( www.Newsmax.com/mckee) and has appeared on Newsmax TV’s America Talks Live offering his political insights. He is also a contributor to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s “South Florida 100,” commenting on local and national political issues.
McKee served on the US Senate staff for Senator Jacob K. Javits (R-NY) whom he assisted in writing food stamp and school lunch legislation and was a legal assistant at the Federal Communications Commission to Commissioner Benjamin L. Hooks—who later headed the NAACP —where he assisted in drafting Equal Employment Opportunity and Minority Ownership policies for the broadcasting and cable television industries.

He held a number of posts during the Reagan-Bush administrations, including serving on President-Elect Reagan’s transition team, and was an appointee to the Legal Services Corporation board of directors. He gave political commentaries on WTTG-TV Television’s Ten O’Clock News and was a Registered Foreign Agent, media, and political relations advisor for the Angolan Freedom Fighters (“UNITA”) in its efforts to defeat the Soviet-Cuban–backed Angolan government.
He is the former co-owner of WTVT-TV in Tampa; a former chairman of the Florida Association of Broadcasters; served on several corporate boards, including Barnett Banks, Inc. and Checkers Drive-In Restaurants; and was inducted into the Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame.
McKee was appointed by Florida governors Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist to several boards and commissions and was a Florida delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention. His Florida-based company provides government, political, media relations, and media training to clients.
He worked his way through college and law school in a variety of jobs, including being a railroad dining car waiter, bartender, and a disc jockey. He received his B.A. degree from Hobart College and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Howard University School of Law.
He is the author of the forthcoming book “How Obama Failed Black America and How Trump Is Helping It.”
